Descrizione

Di corporatura inferiore alla foca dagli anelli, la sua pelliccia appare di colore brunoscuro.

Diffusione

Vive nel Pacifico settentrionale, la si ritrova nel Mare di Bering e nel Mar Glaciale Artico, il numero di esemplari esistenti è ormai limitato a pochissimi individui.
